Encoding and Contribution Systems

Multi-device coding solutions and contribution systems for OTT platforms of broadcasters and online media

The coding and transcoding of broadcast signals for OTT streams require excellent processing quality and maximum versatility and support for different formats such as HEVC, SRT, DASH, RTMP, among many others. The coding, decoding and transcoding equipment must be able to be deployed both on premise and virtualized or in the cloud, and must simultaneously support live signal coding or file conversion tasks. These workflows must be developed with maximum reliability in 1 + 1 and N + M fail-safe architectures. In addition, these architectures should also be able to be used as contribution systems on managed and unmanaged networks for the distribution of signals between different centers. At present, replacing traditional advertising from broadcast streams with specific advertising for OTT platforms through SCTE-35 signalling and support for Client Side Ad Insertion (CSAI) and Server Side Ad Insertion (SSAI) is vital. Thanks to state-of-the-art encoders, workflows based on CMAF format that allow streaming of signals through different ULN Ultra Low Latency CDNs can be built, with delays of less than three seconds between the source server and the user in any part of the world.
